HS Basketball Top Plays Winners Announced
May 18, 2012
In April Time Warner Cable Sports32 announced our fourth annual Viewer’s Choice Awards contest for the high school basketball “Top Plays” of the year. Voting started on Sunday, April 1st.
The plays were chosen from Sports32’s coverage of high school basketball throughout the past season. Sports32 aired 31 local games this season, including eight playoff contests. You could vote for your favorite plays from all the high school basketball games in eastern Wisconsin on TWC’s free on-demand channel, Wisconsin on Demand (WIoD), digital cable Channel 411. Each view counted as a vote for your favorite play.
The top play with the most votes in Sports32’s Northeast market was Morgan Anderson from De Pere. She is the first female to win this award! In the Southeast it was Germantown’s Zak Showalter, who will be playing basketball at Wisconsin next season. The winning schools’ athletic department will receive a gift card and the student athlete winner receives a trophy and will be featured on “Sports32 Weekly” in an upcoming episode.
