Let me get the obligatory out of the way. The Miami Heat is a deserving champion and LeBron James should get credit for being MVP.

Now that I’ve said that, can I be sarcastic?

I slept great knowing that LeBron has his long-awaited title. Yes, there’s still world hunger, violence and unemployment. But there’s a spring in my step that the “king” finally has a throne.

What an amazing accomplishment they won an NBA title with three superstars when many franchises don’t have any. If you win at poker with a stacked deck of course you still celebrate.

Thank goodness LeBron wasn’t injured by that ugly, flagrant foul by mighty Derek Fisher.

I didn’t realize LeBron won the games by himself. Playing one-on-five must be difficult. He had no help at all from his teammates.

Now that LeBron has won a title, he is now the greatest player in NBA history and this year’s Miami Heat is the best NBA team ever. Did I get the job with ESPN?

The official tally: LeBron is now only four titles away from Kobe and Shaq, five away from Kareem and Jordan, seven away from Havlicek and he’s breathing down Bill Russell’s neck. He needs just 10 more to tie. Wake me if he gets close.
